↑ Back to top2 Description of Service
SafeScore provides address-level safety scores derived from publicly available federal government datasets. Primary source datasets include:
- FBI Crime Data Explorer
- FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer
- NOAA National Weather Service
- NHTSA FARS crash data
- USGS Earthquake Hazards Program
- EPA EJScreen
SafeScore synthesizes these datasets into composite safety scores accessible via web application and API.
Scores are informational only. They do not constitute legal advice, professional safety assessments, or guarantees of safety at any location. SafeScore is a data aggregation and presentation tool, not a safety certification service.

- Enterprise clients may not expose raw API response payloads directly to end users without a separate data display agreement with SafeScore.
- API availability is provided on a best-effort basis subject to the uptime commitments in your enterprise agreement.
6 Data Accuracy Disclaimer
SafeScore derives its scores from government-published datasets. These datasets may be incomplete, delayed, subject to reporting errors, or otherwise imperfect. SafeScore does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose of the data presented.
Government source data has inherent reporting lags. FBI Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) data typically lags 12 to 18 months from the date of incident. Other source datasets vary in update frequency by agency. See your enterprise agreement or the data freshness table for current update schedules.
You acknowledge that SafeScore scores are one input among many and should not be used as the sole basis for any life-safety decision, emergency response plan, insurance underwriting determination, or investment decision. SafeScore strongly encourages users to consult primary government sources and qualified professionals for decisions with significant safety or financial consequences.
SafeScore reports and scores are not consumer reports as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. SafeScore is not a consumer reporting agency. SafeScore data is not intended for use, and may not be used, as a factor in establishing any individual’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other purpose covered by the FCRA.
